2Quiz Competition Winners!
April 18, 2017, 11:00 am
Last term we launched a competition to find the world's most creative maths quiz.
Five hundred children from schools around the world submitted their work.
The range of themes was incredible, with everything from Ancient Rome to emojis making an appearance.
After carefully testing out each quiz we came to two conclusions:
1. Maths at primary school level is pretty hard!
2. Picking a winner was going to be tough
We eventually narrowed it down to 17 finalists, from which we chose one winner and five runners up!
The winner was Sophia from Monkfield Park Primary School! We loved Sophia's quiz because it had a great range of question styles, it was well levelled, and most importantly it made epic use of the sound features. Sophia has won a range of maths themed prizes plus £100 for her school to spend on resources.
"I was completely shocked and overwhelmed when I heard the fantastic news from our Headteacher, Mrs Jarman, who announced that I had won the competition in front of the whole year group. She told me I had won the school £100 and won two prizes that I could take home."
"It was maybe not shocking to me to find out that Sophia had won this competition as I know what a dedicated and hard working pupil she is. This year in particular she has found a new confidence in her maths learning and I'm sure this helped to inspire the content of her quiz. Some of those questions even challenged me!"
Mrs Squires (Class Teacher)
The five runners up were from Hetton Primary School, The Blessed Sacrament Catholic Primary School, Bidston Avenue Primary School, Saxton CofE VC Primary School, and Tysoe CofE Primary School.
You can see the winner and all of the other finalists on this Display Board.
All 500 entries can be seen here.
This competition used the versatile 2Quiz tool in Purple Mash, which lets teachers and children make quizzes about any topic!
Stay tuned, we've got another great competition for schools launching next term.
