Astronaut Mashcam

Age: EYFS / KS1 (Reception - Year 1, 4 - 6yrs) 

How to find: search 'astronaut', or go to Mashcams in the Tools section

Curriculum Link: EYFS Framework - Expressive arts and design - being imaginative

Description: Use a tablet or webcam to take a pciture and turn yourself into an astronaut, use the text box to write about being in space. Mashcams are great for sharing on Display Boards. 


Draw a fish  

Age: KS1 (Year 1, 5 - 6yrs) 

How to find: search 'fish',  or go to Topics > Science > Animals

Curriculum Link: National Curriculum - Science - Animals, including humans - identify and name a variety of common animals including fish...

Description: Use the textured pens to draw a fish, then write a sentence about what makes fish different from other types of animals. Once you've finished they can be printed out to make an aquarium display. 


Compose a jingle 

Age: Lower KS2 (Years 3 - 4, 7 - 9yrs) 

How to find: search 'beat',  or go to 2Beat in the Tools section

Curriculum Link: National Curriculum - Music - improvise and compose music for a range of purposes

Description: Layer different instruments on the timeline to create a piece of music. Adjust the volumes, beats and BPM to create the perfect composition. Finished music can be saved and used as the backing track for other Purple Mash activities like 2Code.

Make a car

Age: Upper KS2 (Years 5 - 6, 9 - 11yrs) 

How to find: search 'make', or go to 2Design and Make in the Tools section

Curriculum Link: National Curriculum - Design and Technology - Design - generate, develop, model and communicate their ideas through... prototypes, pieces and computer aided-design. 

Description: Use the 3D model template to design a car. Manipulate the points to change the shape, and use the pens to colour in the net. Once finished the cars can be printed as 2D nets and glued together, or printed directly from a 3D printer.
