Australian Primary Principals' Day

July 21, 2022

Principals Day Banner.png

The purpose of Principals' Day is to celebrate the work that principals do within Australia's primary schools. It was initiated by the Victorian Principals Association (VCA) nearly 20 years ago and has since been adopted by other states and territories. It is aimed at recognising the value and contribution principals make every day to their schools and to children throughout Australia. All through the ups and downs that our nation has experienced, each and every Primary school has had a person willing to step forward and take the leadership role. The person in this role may have a variety of titles in your primary school, such as the School Principal, the Head of Primary, the Head of Junior School or Campus Leader. Any acknowledgment on this day will go a long way in reminding principals why they love what they do and reassuring them of your support and appreciation.

Here at 2Simple, we say THANK YOU with a variety of Purple Mash resources and activities you can use to ensure your students can show their appreciation for their principal. This year the special day is Friday 5th August.

Purple Mash Resources

We have a range of resources on Purple Mash that can be used to prepare for the day ready to deliver on the 5th August.

Students can construct an acrostic poem with this template and included a recorded audio message or even a song or tune - these could be composed using 2Sequence. They can design a morning tea menu with this one. Other ideas are Thank You cards, pictures using '2Paint and Picture' and animations using 2Animate! How about making a gift box using the shape templates in '2Design and Make' and assemble the net. They might like to present a virtual bouquet of flowers or delicious milkshakes. There is also a certificate template to use and a template for inviting your Principal and guests to a Principal's Tea Morning. Their creations could be displayed on a DisplayBoard.

Whatever you do on the day, we would love to see your work, please share either on our Twitter or Facebook pages.
