What's new in 2Blog

July 27, 2021

Purple Mash’s safe blogging environment 2Blog is proving more popular than ever, especially during lockdowns. Schools can communicate the learning and keep up-to-date with their students and their learning all within Purple Mash. With more users comes more feature suggestions. As ever we’ve been listening and have made some improvements to the tool, to give you and your students an even better experience. So without further ado, let’s take a look at what’s new in 2Blog.

Restore deleted blog posts

Teachers can now easily restore deleted blog posts within 2Blog, without the need to contact our support team. The only people who can permanently delete any blog pages or posts are teachers, meaning children’s posts are safe from accidental clicks.

Attach multiple items to comments

Teachers and children can now attach multiple items to each comment they make. So, there’s no longer any need to make countless comments if you need to share lots of images and crucially, you’ll only have one post to approve if a child has the same idea.

See who has viewed your posts

Have you ever wondered exactly which children are reading your school blog? Now we’ve made it possible to see all the children who have read class blog posts, so wonder no more! Simply view the list of names directly under the post in the edit area.

Check how many views you’re getting

It’s amazing to think that public blogs can be seen by millions of people across the world. We’ve added a view counter to 2Blog so you and your class can see exactly how many times your blog is visited. But don’t worry, the counter does not show which children have seen them. So, how many views will you get?

Schedule posts for set time periods

You can now schedule both a start date and an end date for your blog posts. So, if you only want to show posts for a limited time, you can.

Record sound with blog posts

That’s right. In addition to attaching files, you, and your children, can now record up to two minutes of audio directly into your 2Blog posts. Simply hit the record button at the top of the edit post screen and you’re away.

Using 2Blog for remote learning

Using 2Blog during lockdowns can be as simple as asking children about their reading or as structured as a whole day's plan with links.
