March 6th-15th marks the 2026 edition of British Science Week. For ten days, people of all ages will be taking part in engaging events and activities coordinated by the British Science Association to celebrate science, technology, engineering and math. Red Nose Day is back on Friday 20th March and there's loads of fun activities that schools can get involved in to help raise funds.

This year International Women's Day falls on Sunday 8th March with the theme Give to Gain. The day was created to celebrate women and their achievements, whilst challenging stereotypes, bias, discrimination and perceptions. To mark the day, we have several resources and activities for you to use on Purple Mash, giving children a chance to explore and write about inspirational women from across the globe.

On March 3rd, it is World Wildlife Day, a time to celebrate and raise awareness of the world’s wild animals and plants. The theme for World Wildlife Day 2026 is ‘Medicinal and Aromatic Plants: Conserving Health, Heritage and Livelihoods’. There’s a wide range of educational resources available within Purple Mash that support the theme that you can use to celebrate World Wildlife Day.
