About The National Holocaust Museum

The National Holocaust Museum, located in rural Nottinghamshire, is a dedicated Holocaust learning memorial and museum. The museum features two permanent exhibitions. One which is suitable for adults and children 12 years and above. This exhibition explores the roots of Anti-Jewish racism, the rise of the Nazis and the events of the Holocaust.

The second permanent exhibition is The Journey, Europe’s first and only Holocaust exhibit aimed specifically at primary school children. It is completely immersive. This exhibition follows the story of Leo, a fictional German-Jewish boy living in 1938 Berlin. His story explores life as a Jewish person living in Nazi occupied territory, through the lens of a child. Its focus is on the Kindertransport, and life in the lead up to the outbreak of war.

In both exhibitions, survivor testimony and the use of artefacts is central.
