While we all know how important computing is as a subject, the majority of the time school budgets simply cannot keep up. There are new devices to purchase when the old ones become obsolete, as well as external hardware, and sometimes even security software is squeezed into computing budgets.

Fundraising for your school with a Purple Day
We’ve put together a pack of resources so that your school can run a Purple Day to raise funds for computing, whether that’s for new laptops, a Purple Mash subscription, or external devices to code like Mai-Z the MouseBot.

Lewannick Primary School ran a Purple Mash Day to raise funds in the Summer term. Pupils all wore purple, and a special assembly was held to introduce the day, with a special Purple Mash podcast created with 2Cast. The school also did computing activities with different workshops throughout the day, including:
- Designing and printing 3D objects
- Coding games
- Creating pictures
It was a very successful day, and raised enough money to pay for their Purple Mash subscription for the next two years!
