May 8, 2026
We are launching a new competition for 2026 on the 18th of May! The Tracklab Competition will give Year 6 students the opportunity to showcase their creativity and musical skills in teams of 2-6 to create a song about their time at Primary School.
Using tools in Purple Mash, we are looking for the best song writers and music composers to work together as a team to produce a song with at least one verse and one chorus.
We will update this blog once the competition is live on the 18th of May.
Entries close on 29th June, so make sure that you have submitted your entry before 5pm GMT.
Teams of 2-6 children from Year 6 to compose an original song on Tracklab to celebrate their time in Primary School.
The competition is open to Year 6 pupils only.
Schools and team members have the opportunity to win:
Teams of two to six children from the UK & ROI should work together to compose an original song using Tracklab within Purple Mash. The song should feature at least one verse and one chorus. The song can be about whatever you like, but we encourage you to think of memories of Primary School or feelings of leaving school.
Once teams are happy with their song, they should submit it to their teacher for approval. Teachers will be able to submit the songs on the display board within Purple Mash.
Do you intend to enter? Please let us know below so we know to look out for your entry!
To support children with the competition we have a handy guide of how to get started with Tracklab if they haven't used it before.
We will also be hosting two Live Lessons, designed for the whole class to enjoy and learn about music production and song writing. You can sign up to those below.
Lesson One - 19th May, 14:00
Lesson Two - 2nd June, 14:00
Even if you cannot attend on the day, if you sign up you will be sent a recording. We highly recommend you sign up as there will be valuable tasks that will help teams get the most out of Tracklab.
Happy song-writing and good luck!
