We call this the Mash of the Month, this month it's our Multiplication Tables Check. March 6th-15th marks the 2026 edition of British Science Week. For ten days, people of all ages will be taking part in engaging events and activities coordinated by the British Science Association to celebrate science, technology, engineering and math. This year International Women's Day falls on Sunday 8th March with the theme Give to Gain. The day was created to celebrate women and their achievements, whilst challenging stereotypes, bias, discrimination and perceptions. To mark the day, we have several resources and activities for you to use on Purple Mash, giving children a chance to explore and write about inspirational women from across the globe.

Ada Lovelace Day celebrates the achievements of women in science, technology, engineering and maths (STEM). Held on the second Tuesday in October every year, in 2025 it is celebrated on the 14th of October. In this blog we learn about Ada Lovelace and look at the many ways you can celebrate women in science with Purple Mash.
