To celebrate the launch of Purple Chip earlier this year, we are running a new competition to get children and schools inspired and excited about programming.

The Purple Mash Festive Card Competition gave children the chance to design the official 2Simple festive card on any festive theme they wanted. In less than 3 weeks we received over 8,000 entries from schools worldwide across four age groups, and a school staff category. Thank you to everyone who took part. On March 3rd, it is World Wildlife Day, a time to celebrate and raise awareness of the world’s wild animals and plants. The theme for World Wildlife Day 2024 is ‘Connecting People and Planet: Exploring Digital Innovation in Wildlife Conservation’, and the focus is on how digital conservation technologies can help wildlife conservation. There’s a wide range of educational resources available within Purple Mash that support the theme that you can use to celebrate World Wildlife Day.

March 16th-22nd marks Sign Language Week - discover how UK schools can embed BSL into everyday school culture with free resources from School of Signs and Purple Mash.

European Day of Languages is celebrated on 26th September each year. Here, we highlight how Purple Mash can be used in a range of ways to promote language teaching and celebrate European Day of Languages in schools.
