Now in its 21st year, Safer Internet Day takes place on Tuesday 6th February 2024. Over the years, the day has become a landmark event in the online safety calendar, with schools across the world contributing to creating a safer online environment for all. This year's theme is 'Inspiring change? Making a difference, managing influence and navigating change online' and here we look at some resources you can use and how you can get involved.

Digital Leaders making an impact at Castleview

Within Purple Mash, there is a dedicated area for Digital Leaders, pupils who have a passion for Computing and can gain leadership skills and develop their computing skills while having fun. It was fabulous to hear from Mrs. Harris, who shared the impact that the Digital Leaders have at Castleview Primary School.

The Information Commissioner's Office (ICO), the UK's data protection regulator, is helping children and young people understand the power of their personal data as they learn, play and socialise online. They have launched a suite of lesson plans and worksheets, aimed at teaching primary and secondary school pupils how to protect their privacy online and how they can control what online companies and platforms know about them.
