On March 3rd, it is World Wildlife Day, a time to celebrate and raise awareness of the world’s wild animals and plants. The theme for World Wildlife Day 2024 is ‘Connecting People and Planet: Exploring Digital Innovation in Wildlife Conservation’, and the focus is on how digital conservation technologies can help wildlife conservation. There’s a wide range of educational resources available within Purple Mash that support the theme that you can use to celebrate World Wildlife Day.

Each month we will be highlighting a #MashoftheMonth. This will focus on a tool or application within Purple Mash and how it can be used within the classroom to support learning across the curriculum. During the month, if you share how you have used #MashoftheMonth, you will then be entered into a draw to win a 2Simple Goody bag!

Meet the Fruities and Veggies™ – a brand-new book series for children packed with fun, friendship, and healthy eating adventures! Written by Ivor Baddiel and illustrated by Brett Gowlett, with house designs by real pupils and support from One Stop and FareShare.

Python in Pieces is an interactive coding environment, designed for Secondary Schools to enable teachers to confidently teach the Python language while fostering independent learning and giving hands-on experience for students.

In this blog we have hear from two of the developers of the program, where they discuss what Python in Pieces is, and how it supports computing in Secondary schools.

Kingsland only started using Purple Mash this school year (2018-19) and has already been recognised as a 2Simple School of Excellence. In fact, its worth noting that the school has a strong commitment to ICT in general: it has achieved the ICT Mark and is the Apple Regional Training Centre for Stoke.
