Antony Wootton is the author of Buster's Blitz, a fantastic Serial Mash book for upper KS2. Buster's Blitz tells the story of a young boy and his beloved dog during WWII. It is a fast paced, yet moving, story that looks at a very well known historical event from a unique perspective. This is the first book that was written by a guest author on Serial Mash. Find out more about Buster's Blitz from the author himself...

Each month we highlight a #MashoftheMonth, focusing on a tool or application within Purple Mash and how it can be used within the classroom to support learning across the curriculum. During the month, if you share how you have used #MashoftheMonth, you will then be entered into a draw to win a 2Simple Goody Bag!

This January the Mash of the Month is 2Blog.

The RSPB Big Schools' Birdwatch is a great opportunity to get students outside and closer to nature. Taking part can count towards the RSPB's Wild Challenge award, and the RSPB's activities support curriculum learning. Purple Mash contains resources and activities you can use to extend learning in this topic area - read the blog to find out more.

Holocaust Memorial Day with Purple Mash

Holocaust Memorial Day (HMD) takes place every year on 27 January, the anniversary of the liberation of Auschwitz-Birkenau, the largest Nazi death camp. It is an international day to remember the 6 million Jews murdered during the Holocaust and the millions of people murdered under the Nazi persecution of other groups and in more recent genocides in Cambodia, Rwanda, Bosnia and Darfur. HMD is an opportunity for everyone to learn about the past and take action to create a safer future.
