European Day of Languages is celebrated on 26th September each year. Here, we highlight how Purple Mash can be used in a range of ways to promote language teaching and celebrate European Day of Languages in schools.

This year International Women's Day falls on Sunday 8th March with the theme Give to Gain. The day was created to celebrate women and their achievements, whilst challenging stereotypes, bias, discrimination and perceptions. To mark the day, we have several resources and activities for you to use on Purple Mash, giving children a chance to explore and write about inspirational women from across the globe.

At 2Simple we want to help by raising awareness of International Literacy Day and the importance of young people gaining those valuable literacy and language skills that are needed throughout life.

Here we look at just some of the resources available within Mini Mash that can help young learners engage with literacy and enjoy it for life.

The Purple Mash Festive Card Competition gave children the chance to design the official 2Simple festive card on any festive theme they wanted. In less than 3 weeks we received over 8,000 entries from schools worldwide across four age groups, and a school staff category. Thank you to everyone who took part. The RSPB Big Schools' Birdwatch is a great opportunity to get students outside and closer to nature. Taking part can count towards the RSPB's Wild Challenge award, and the RSPB's activities support curriculum learning.
